ReplyDeletewhats the cutoff percentage? whena re the results being published? etc etc
ReplyDeleteSince only four vacancies are reported what might be the number of candidates PSC call for the mains? On the basis of this number what might be the cut off? Questions seem to be of substandard level but a second analysis prove only those with quality can answer them.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the standard of the questions and last times exam, cut off may be at 50 to 55% range. This was a pretty tricky exam.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have an idea when the result would be out, and what the expected cut off is? I am expecting at least 75%, should I have hope? Thanks.
ReplyDelete- Meera N Shankar, Thiruvananthapuram.
95. A student multiplied a number by 3/5 instead of 5/3. What is the percentage error?
ReplyDeleteA. 45% B. 86% C. 36% D. 64%
percentage difference = (change in quantity / original quantity ) * 100
= ( ( X * 5/3 - X * 3/5 ) / (X * 5/3) ) * 100
= ( X * ( 5/3 - 3/5 ) / ( X * 5/3) ) * 100
= ((16/15)/(5/3))*100
= (16*3/15*5)*100
= 64%
is there any chance to be the cutoff less than 45?
ReplyDeletewhat is your opinion about the cutoff.......friends...seems to be tricky questions............seems to be easy...but.....
ReplyDeleteexam look like easy but i thhink most of the people scored GOOD NEGEATIVES also......i am expecting a cut off about 50-60 range .
ReplyDeletethere r only 4 vacancy reported but psc also noted that more no of vacancy will be reported
Vacancies are now 20+
ReplyDeletedoes anyone have any idea about the cut off marks?

there is a possibility of negatives...........expecting cutoff to be in 50-55 range
ReplyDeleteCut off expected is between 50-55 marks.
ReplyDeleteMost of the students who felt the questions to be too easy are now riding high on negative marks. Besides, several questions were vague and some with multiple answers. Regarding certain questions (like Vaikkom Hero), there is dispute amongst Kerala historians regarding the contribution of EV Ramaswamy (as they feel it was too exaggerated by the Tamilians).
Good chance of 2-3 questions being cancelled also.
All these give a hint that the cut-off wont exceed 55 marks under any circumstances.
Best wishes,
the questions seemed to be easy at first sight.but it is not like that.esp english questions are of good std.
ReplyDeletebut regarding cut off i think it may be above 65
When is the result expected? When will PSC publish the provisional answer key?
ReplyDeleteThe possible questions which maybe cancelled are: Question with 53 and 64 are possible odd ones out, Question with balled and bawled as homonyms, Question with angrily explaining and angrily leaving as correct answers, Question about Vaikkom Hero being EVR which is controversial. This means a total of 4 questions /might/ be cancelled, resulting in a 96 question paper, with possibly a 65% or so cut-off, judging from popular response.
ReplyDeleteAlso, this question maybe cancelled:
ReplyDelete55.By age four, Varsha won .......... brown belt, ............... first degree in Karate.(articles)

anybody have an idwa about usual cut off range in oter exams conducted by psc?
ReplyDeletecut off may be in the range of 50-55
ReplyDeleteany idea on the number of persons selected to write the main exam????
ReplyDeletecut off may be in the range of 70
ReplyDeleteWell, many participants here doesn't seem to know how PSC arrives at the cut-off marks. Its not purely based on the easiness of questions or number of applicants or number of seats for the post. It also depends on the post, the type of candidates desired, nature of job, etc. And this criteria plays a vital role on exams for higher and responsible posts like Dy. Collector, Magistrate, Divisional Accountants, etc. While getting a good score in prelims is essential, what PSC looks at is to get a broader base qualify for the Mains, so that the best of the best get through. Many candidates who may score well objectively may not always be the best choice for such posts that require much practical knowledge, presence of mind, subjectivity, interpretation and logical wisdom. These could be ascertained only after the Mains and even after the interviews. And that's exactly why PSC doesn't even take the score of prelims into consideration for preparing the final rank list. Its just meant as a tool to arrive at a decent cut-off that bifurcates common-sense from idiocy. Accordingly they fix the cut-off in a fashion that dumbos don't qualify. So in almost all such higher posts, the ideal cut-off they fix is in the range of 52-55, and in no way more than that.
ReplyDeleteWell, those who read this needn't get confused that i'm one who got a score around the 50's and trying to instill some self confidence. (I have already been through this post, last time, and working in Dy. Collector rank, awaiting my promotion).
Best wishes for all aspirants.
I would really like to thank the person who wrote the previous comment. It surely did put my mind at ease. I was confused about the cut off marks. Many candidates are of the opinion that the exam was easy, but I found it otherwise. After reading your comment, I do have hope on qualifying. Thanks a lot.
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify... Why would a Dep Collector put comment in this forum? Serious Candidates please...
ReplyDeletebe practical.please go through similar psc exams and its cut off.psc may call less than 4000 candidates for mains.if the number is 10000(which is the prediction of some candidates and institutions)paper valuation will take more than one year.so my opinion is that, in this exam also psc will follow the conventional manner which it is following for years.
ReplyDeletecut off may be between 68 and 72.
please don't misguide
suppose if psc is calling 4000 candidates for mains, the cut off mark will be the mark of that last candidate right? i mean the one who secured the 4000th rank?
ReplyDeleteit was easy but substandard questions.all the institutions and students got shocked.now please plse........... dont miss lead anyboby. plse make us know the real cut off otherwise preparing for mains will also be a waste of time.
ReplyDeletewhen will we be able to know the results of this exam?
ReplyDeleteif they qualify 10000 candidates........ cut off may be 40...any chance??????????
ReplyDeleteI feel exam is not much easy.......it was a tricky one
ReplyDeleteif the no of candidates for main is 10000 probably 50 may b the cut off.but a far possibility.only GOD knows
ReplyDeleteDEAR FRIENDS IT IS JUST WASTE OF TIME BY MAKING UNNECESSARY COMMENTS... LET ME PLACE BEFORE YOU A VITAL STATISTICS.. IN 2008 PSC CONDUCTED B.D.O EXAM FOR 217348 CANDIDATES. CUT OFF WAS 53. 3000 QUALIFIED THE PRELIMS. 112 GENERAL CANDIDATES AND NEAR ABOUT 50 RESERVATION CANDIDATES MADE IT TO THE INTERVIEW. THERE ARE AROUND 150 B.D.Os IN THE STATE. AND MIND YOU THE ANTICIPATED VACANCY WONT GO BEYOND 20-30. SITUATION LOOKS PERFECTLY THE SAME.. CONSIDERING THE RELAXATION FOR THE EASINESS OF THE QUESTION PAPER LETS THINK THAT THIS TIME AROUND A MAXIMUM OF 7 MARKS WOULD INCREASE IN THE CUT OFF, IN ANY WAY CUT OFF WOULD NOT CROSS 60. THIS IS RATIONALITY AND LOGIC.
ReplyDeletegood prediction
ReplyDeleteThe language of the gentle man who posed this hypothesis (April 12 2011 2;31 AM) before my comment appears to be very sound.Hence i think cut off would be around 60, and no way beyond that. All who claim 70 percentage and above are bluffing.I have extensive experience in this field.Bluffmasters like Meera N Shankar, who posted her comment claiming atleast 75 percent, are required in Thrissur Pooram, for contributing environmentally non-hazardous bombs.Meera, kindly report to Vadakkumnathan Temple office.U r required there.Dear friends, dont be perturbed by intellectual idiocies intended to create fear psychosis, so that the people who posted it can study well.Beware of them.Thanks.Brothers and sisters, Please dont mislead others. All the best for each of you
ReplyDeleteEncyclopedia—steel
ReplyDeleteTypes and Uses
Steel is often classified by its carbon content: a high-carbon steel is serviceable for dies and cutting tools because of its great hardness and brittleness; low- or medium-carbon steel is used for sheeting and structural forms because of its amenability to welding and tooling. Alloy steels, now most widely used, contain one or more other elements to give them specific qualities. Aluminum steel is smooth and has a high tensile strength. Chromium steel finds wide use in automobile and airplane parts on account of its hardness, strength, and elasticity, as does the chromium-vanadium variety. Nickel steel is the most widely used of the alloys; it is nonmagnetic and has the tensile properties of high-carbon steel without the brittleness. Nickel-chromium steel possesses a shock resistant quality that makes it suitable for armor plate. Wolfram (tungsten), molybdenum, and high-manganese steel are other alloys. Stainless steel, which was developed in England, has a high tensile strength and resists abrasion and corrosion because of its high chromium content.

ReplyDelete75% is a legit claim, provided someone prepared GK well and has a sound command of reasoning and English. How can you say that Meera didn't score that much, since you probably don't even know her?
I am expecting over 70% myself, and there is no "intellectual idiocy" involved there (what a wonderful phrasing by the way!). :P
That said, I expect the cut off to be 60% too, based on several criteria. Waiting for the results now.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI said I was expecting a score of 75%, not a cutoff of 75%. No intention of misleading or discouraging anyone. Having talked to several people, I think the cut off would probably not be higher than 60%.
For the poster who said I should go to some temple pooram, I'd recommend a lot of maturity, without which you'd never be much of a deputy collector.
Meera N. Shankar
I don't know how many of you are familiar with the way UPSC is providing cutoff for IAS exams. They are doing it based on the vacancies present. Usually they select people about 12.5 times the number of seats after prelims and 2-3 times after mains. But since the vacancies are far less (For UPSC this time its near 1000) comparing both we cant be sure. If its any thing like UPSC chance is that the cutoff may be higher. Can anybody throw any light in this regard.
ReplyDeleteif in that manner, then hardly 150 persons in the list for mains
ReplyDeleteBTW, we should lodge complaints on questions with multiple answers or no answer. Any idea how that can be done?
ReplyDeleteRefer PSC website to figure out how to lodge complaints.
ReplyDeleteone of the coaching institute says "they will be qualifying at least 10,000 for the mains since they want capable and potential candidates.can we believe this ?
ReplyDeleteat first time reading it looked easy ..but after answering i came to know that some of answers are wrong. also what is the answer for the question "the primary thing about immunity..? from Wikipedia the answer is lymphatic tissue..
ReplyDeletePSC has published the key today. The answers given in the key does not match the ones given here.
ReplyDeleteGuys, who is known as Vaikkom Hero???
ReplyDeleteRamaswami is not the Vaikkom Hero, is he?. I believe there is a dispute between the historians regarding this. However acording to the answer key given by the PSC, Ramaswami is known as the Vaikkom hero.
ReplyDeletehey man/lady there is no dispute over the fact that periyar ramaswami naicker is known as vaikkom hero. just go to the internet and check for your self. do not comment for commenting sake.
ReplyDeleteFor the following questions, psc has given wrong key (i think).
ReplyDeleteQn. 1- Regarding national integration, PSC has given the answer as D.
Qn. 5- Regarding Vaikkom Hero, Psc answer is EV Ramaswami.
Qn 59- PSC has given the answer key as A
Qn. 60- PSc answer key is A
Qn. 97- PSC answer key C.
Can someone clarify on this?, please
for the above comment, the key is regarding question booklet code B
ReplyDeleteFriends, in the present scenario I feel that 60 would be a safe bet don't you think so?
ReplyDeleteThere is dispute among Kerala historians regarding the "exaggerated" involvement of Periyar Ramaswamy in Vaikkom Satyagraha.
ReplyDelete(The one who guided the person to the internet should at least be aware of the 'reality' than 'virtual reality' thats seen in the internet).
If PSC can forward this question to any 5 historians from Kerala, atleast 4 of them would opine that the actual hero is "T.K Madhavan" (not among the options) and not Periyar.
It was the Tamilians who hailed Periyar as "Vaikkom Veeran"...and the english translators (not Historians) placed him as "Vaikkom Hero".
Its absurd to consider a person who made a guest appearance to be hailed as a Hero, when the efforts of the actual person who sweat for many months on, is not seen mentioned even in Kerala history books.
WHAT EVER IT BE ITS NOT UP TO YOU TO PHILOSOPHIZE OVER THE MATTER AND BRING SOME ONE OUTSIDE THE OPTION AND PLACE HIM AS THE ANSWER FOR THE QUESTION RAISED. MOREOVER FOR THE KIND INFORMATION OF THE PERSON WHO POSTED THE COMMENT BEFORE ME I TOO HAVE A BIT TO DO WITH HISTORY BEING AN MPHIL SCHOLAR IN THE DISCIPLINE AND ONE WHO IS A RESEARCHER IN THAT REGARD. P.SC HAS ITS OWN WAY OF EVALUATING THINGS. THEY ARE NOT HERE TO DISCOURSE ON WHETHER "Its absurd to consider a person who made a guest appearance to be hailed as a Hero, when the efforts of the actual person who sweat for many months on, is not seen mentioned even in Kerala history books." RATHER THEY HAVE PUT QUESTIONS FOR WHICH VIRTUAL REALITY WOULD INDEED DO ITS BUSINESS. MY DEAR FRIEND WE ARE NOT HERE TO SCHOLARIZE ANY PARTICULAR FIELD OF ACTION RATHER THIS IS AN ATTEMPT TO PLACE THINGS KNOWN. LET ME ASK THEN TO THE AGITATED FRIEND WHAT WOULD BE HIS STAND ON THE QUESTION REGARDING NATIONAL INTEGRATION. SUBJECTIVITY OH DEAR MUST NOT BE MIXED WITH EMPIRICAL STANDINGS.
ReplyDeleteThe idiot above should have written in small letters. Nobody here is blind !!
ReplyDeleteLEARN CULTURE FROM YOUR FAMILY THIS MAY BE THE WAY HOW YOU CALL YOUR PARENTS.
ReplyDeleteMost of the discussion here are out of context and irrelevant to the deputy collector exam.it is quite unbecoming to call a gentleman scholar who had substantiated his arguments an idiot. Men should learn courtesy and humility
ReplyDeletedear friends Its very clear that all those who put their comments is of the openion that the exam is either substandard or too easy. From this it is very clear that the cut off may be a little bit high compared to other exams.I met some of the persons who were earnestly preparing for LDC and other similar PSC exams and I was fortunate to see many of their answers and almost every one has scored more than 60 marks. So it is illogical to redict a cutt of at this time .Any way it may be beyond 60 marks with 10or 2 marks relaxation for OBC and 10 marks for SC/ST candidiates. Those who have scored more than 65 marks can start preparing for the Mains.Good Luck
ReplyDeleteWill you guys be lodging a complaint to PSC regarding wrong answer keys?. I am planning to do myself but not sure about the procedures. Like, do I have to give explanation regarding each answer?
ReplyDeleteI am thinking about the following questions...
1.Regarding National Integration
2.Question regarding relative clause
3.Question regarding Adverbial form
4.Problem involving TV & Scooter

Dear friends today i met a person working in Idukki dist co op bank claiming 82 as his score.Let me make a very clear stataement .i am a person who have worked extensivly for the same exam and with all my experiance in writing similar exams and a person with above averege intelligence in english and maths i was able to score only 57 correct answers.I have got selection in other similar competative exams and i beleive those who have scored 55 marks and more are people who have worked hard for this.questions may be easy or sustandard but to answer the same you need good understanding.so I request not to create fear psycosiss among those who have scored reasonably well
ReplyDeleteA Note Regarding the Answer Keys: (controversial ones)
ReplyDeleteQ1 (Paper A) - The main aspect of national integration is Loyalty to the Nation.
Here all the 4 options are aspects of national integration. We are asked to pick the most correct or apt choice. Let us take the example of Jews. Prior to the establishment of Israel, Jews all around the world had Israel as their emotional Country , ie, A Nation. They were distributed all around the globe. When they Came together in the world, the very 1st quality to build a country (from the status of a nation) is Loyalty to the nation. Unity comes second.
In India, national integration means Nation Building . We know that india has unity in diversity. Hence to integrate, Loyalty becomes crucial.
2.Q 43 (A) - The organ primarily concerned with immunity - Lymphatic tissue.
Almost all the organs gets affected if immunity is lost. however, Lymphatic tissues have its primary function linked to the immune system. We are asked to select the most apt answer.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lymphatic_system
3. Q 53 (A) - By age four Varsha won A brown belt, THE first degree in karate.
Here eventhough balcbelt is one concerned onlt to karate, the anwer is A because, it can be won by anyone.
Eg: Varsha ate A Masaladosa from THE newly opened restaurant.
4. Q 82 (A)
Find the odd one out
25,27,30,35,42,53,65.
choices are 30, 42, 53 and 65.
there can be multiple answers.
25 is an answer since it is the only perfect square.
27 can be another answer as it is the only perfect cube.
however, from the choices given there can be two answers, viz. 53 and 65.
53 because it is the only prime number and 65 because it doesn't follow the pattern - difference between the numbers is in increasing order of prime numbers.
So this question has to be canceled or two options has to be made correct.
5. Q 97 (A) - the most significant blunder.
The question is to find the cost of the TV. and it comes to Rs.20000 and that is choice A. In the key provided the answer is choice C , ie, Rs. 28000. But this is the cost of the Scooter.
This one will not be cancelled but the key has to be changed.
I have found only these. Hope friends will come with further discussions.
As one my our friends said here, the cut off will not be that high. Undoubtedly the paper was easy but the paper had a homogenous nature and almost the marks of Above average candidates will vary between 55 and 70 (this my speculation).
From previous experience - Secretariat assistant exam prelims - the cut off was 48. the paper was difficult than this and vacancy was around 1000.
BDO prelims the cut off was 57. 4500 - 5000 were called to write mains. vacany reported was 2 or 3!
Here the reported vacancy is 4. and we assume that 5000 odd will be called for mains and the cut off could be anywhere arounf 60 or even less.
Anyone planning to submit complaints for the controversial questions?
ReplyDeletesubmitted already. by this time serious candidates would have already posted. format is available in the site. Wonder why there is no online provision for lodging complaints regarding the keys.
ReplyDeleteplease read the code as B (instead of A) for my previous post (2 posts ahead of this one).
ReplyDeletehi,
ReplyDeletetill what date we can file our complaint?
Friends,
ReplyDeleteI was a student of Political Science from JNU, and was surprised to see some answers given in the PSC key regarding Politics. My contentions regarding the mistakes in the key are given as below .I request serious students to examine and incorporate it in their complaint to the PSC, if they find it valid, so that final key would remain blemishless.
Friends,
ReplyDelete1. MOST SIGNIFICANT COMPONENT OF NATIONAL INTEGRATION
National loyalty is the result of Unity, and Loyalty cannot be an end in itself, rather the result of Unity. So, theoretically speaking, the most significant objective of national integration is to attain Unity. You can find the word Unity incorporated in the Preamble to the Constitution. Preamble talks about Unity, not National Loyalty. Further, the objective of National Integration, as stated by National Integration Council is the most meaningful statement on the official vision of National integration.
I am quoting it for your kind attention:
ReplyDelete“The NIC declared its objectives in the meeting held in 1968. The declaration of objectives as adopted by the NIC is as follows :- “The foundation of our national life is common citizenship, unity in diversity, freedom of religions, secularism, equality, justice-social-economic and political, and fraternity among all communities. The National Integration Council reiterates its faith in these values and dedicates itself to their achievement... (will be continued)
... that strike at the root of national solidarity and calls upon all political parties, voluntary organizations, other citizen groups, the press, leaders of opinion and indeed all men of good will to bring them to a halt by discouraging communal ill-will and regional animosities and weaning the misguided elements of society from paths of violence; by active and energetic propagation of the principles, especially of tolerance and harmony for which this nation stands, by mobilizing constructive forces of society in the cause of national unity and solidarity and giving them leadership encouragement and articulation...."
ReplyDelete(Source- http://mha.nic.in/pdfs/NICBackG.pdf )
The above mentioned official statement talks about national unity as the most significant objective of national integration.
2. AUTOMATIC SUSPENSION OF FREEDOM DURING NATIONAL EMERGENCY
ReplyDeleteThe correct answer is Freedom of Speech, but PSC key states that Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion and Right to Constitutional Remedies get suspended when national emergency is proclaimed. National Emergency brings automatic suspension of the right to freedom of speech. There is no doubt about this answer, because article 358 of the Constitution talks about this. Freedom of speech is ensured by article 19(1)(g), and all the rights under article 19 get automatically suspended when national emergency is proclaimed. On the other hand Freedom of Religion is provided under Articles 25-28, and right to Constitutional remedies under article 32.Article 359 states that President can suspend the operation of these fundamental rights by a separate proclamation. Thus there is no automatic suspension with regard to these rights.
3. HOMONYM OF BALD
All the standard books and websites mention “balled” and “bawled” as the homonyms of bald. But, strangely, PSC recognises only one among them.
The previous five episodes of comments were posted by me, and i had to slice it because the lengthy comment was not being posted. All the best dear friends.
ReplyDeleteVinod Chandrakumar
-There is no english word as "balled". So the only answer can be "Bawled" .
ReplyDelete-During emergency only Articles 20 and 21 will be retained and all other articles will be suspended. The answer given by PSC is correct.
- Key published on 18th April. within 2 weeks of this date , the complaints can be lodged, if any.
Reference - Constitution of India by DD Basu.
ReplyDeleteIt clearly states that During an emergency only Article 20 and 21 is retained rest all other fundamental rights will be automatically suspended.
There is no such word as BALLED. so how can that be the answer?! BAWLED is the right answer.
ReplyDeleteand
Articles 20 and 21 will be the only funda rights that will not be taken away during emergency and rest all funda rights automatically get suspended. Any book on constituon will provide this info.
(In JNU also this one is applicalbe i think)
358. Suspension of provisions of Article 19 during emergencies
ReplyDelete(1) While a Proclamation of Emergency declaring that the security of India or any part of the territory thereof is threatened by war or by external aggression is in operation, nothing in Article 19 shall restrict the power of the State as defined in Part III to make any law or to take any executive action which the State would but for the provisions contained in that Part be competent to make or to take, but any law so made shall, to the extent of the in competency, cease to have effect as soon as the Proclamation ceases to operate, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before the law so ceases to have effect: Provided that where such Proclamation of Emergency is in operation only in any part of the territory of India, any such law may be made, or any such executive action may be taken, under this article in relation to or in any State or Union territory in which or in any part of which the Proclamation of Emergency is not in operation, if and in so far as the security of India or any part of the territory thereof is threatened by activities in or in relation to the part of the territory of India in which the Proclamation of Emergency is in operation
(2) Nothing in clause ( 1 ) shall apply (a) to any law which does not contain a recital to the effect that such law is in relation to the Proclamation of Emergency in operation when it is made; or (b) to any executive action taken otherwise than under a law containing such a recital.
vinod chandrakumar
Article 359. Suspension of the enforcement of the rights conferred by Part III during emergencies
ReplyDelete(1) Where a Proclamation of Emergency is in operation, the President may by order declare that the right to move any court for the enforcement of such of the rights conferred by Part III (except Article 20 and 21) as may be mentioned in the order and all proceedings pending in any court for the enforcement of the rights so mentioned shall remain suspended for the period during which the Proclamation is in force or for such shorter period as may be specified in the order
(1A) While an order made under clause ( 1 ) mentioning any of the rights conferred by Part III (except Article 20 and 21) is in operation, nothing in that Part conferring those rights shall restrict the power of the State as defined in the said Part to make any law or to take any executive action which the State would but for the provisions containing in that Part be competent to make or to take, but any law so made shall, to the extent of the in competency, cease to have effect as soon as the order aforesaid ceases to operate, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before the law so ceases to have effect Provided that where a Proclamation of Emergency is in operation only in any part of the territory of India, any such law may be made, or any such executive action may be taken, under this article in relation to or in any State or Union territory in which or in any part of which the Proclamation of Emergency is not in operation, if and in so far as the security of India or any part of the territory thereof is threatened by activities in or in relation to the part of the territory of India in which the Proclamation of Emergency is in operation
Vinod Chandrakumar
Dear Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteThe relevant provisions of the constitution, which is also available online, are given above. Now should i further prove that only article 19 is automatically suspended?Pls understand that fact is the last word in such examinations, and the facts are kept above.Pls dont malign D.D.Basu, for he never wrote, keeping in mind your precarious situation. The former high court judge simply explained the provisions, and it wont be at adds with the stated provisions of the constitution. As you sarcastically stated, Emergency is not the same in JNU, because ppl dont blindly follow
beliefs, but their conviction is always anvilled at the touch stone of empirical observation and critical thinking.
Vinod Chandrakumar
Dear anonymous,
ReplyDeletePls understand that homonyms stand on a different footing altogether, pls check online resources before slinging mud on others. All the online resources cite balled as well as bawled as the homonym of bald. You can attack me by making any statement, but the students who read your verbal vitriolics would surely verify it by themselves by checking online.
vinod chandrakumar
admitted Mr. Genius! you are great! PSC men and most others are fools. just defecating verbal feaces. Forgive us. Amen!
ReplyDeleteDear Friend,
ReplyDeleteEvery student who comes this page would realise your unfair language. This displayed your character and your intolerance.i simply cited the relevant constitutional provisions, and you could not further criticise it logically.(to be continued)
I dont consider PSC as fools, rather they are wise because they realise the possibility of mistakes, and allow us opportunity to file complaints.Pls dont put your words into my mouth.(to be continued)
ReplyDeleteI can also reply by using similiar language, the reeling impact of which will cause you discomfort in even in your sleep. But it is not the culture of my parents and i dont feel offended at your language also, because of the lessons i learned in academia.(to be continued)
ReplyDeleteStill, i wish you all the best for a great success in this examination.Kindly not to resort to multiple identities in this page for further attacking me.thank you dear

Thanks Vishnu sir. Nice job dude. BUT is the NCERT BOOK NEEDED? AS ONLY QUESTION FROM THE CONTEMPORARY INDIA WOULD BE ASKED.
ReplyDeletefriend I do feel NCERT essential.
ReplyDeleteK.M VISHNU NAMBOODIRI
NCERT books? how can they help us precisely for this mains? please elaborate.
ReplyDeleteAny books for kerala economy and socio-cultural movements other than Oommens's?
Thank you lot Mr. Nambuthiri.

Questions would be placed from post independent Indian political system and to substantiate it one must be essentially equipped with modern india and contemporary India there NCERT can come to rescue. If you can manage ADITYA MUKHARJEE'S work on contemporary India can also be dealt with{of course time consuming}
ReplyDeleteA.Sreedhara Menon's survey of kerala history is also a must read which i forgot mentioning.
K.M VISHNU NAMBOODIRI
Thanks Vishnu. I feel your book list is fine enough for the G.S First paper. Machu any idea about the aptitude paper. Vishnu you also didn't speak about the three acts in the syllabus and the Constitution thing. Dear how to manage the same?
ReplyDeleteShambhu Divakaran.T
Thank you Nambuthiri for suggestions.
ReplyDeleteIs that Adithya mukherjee book available here in kerala?
For GS2nd paper i think basic books of Data interpretation will do.
It is easy provided yoy have the speed and accuracy. Practise practise practise is the key.
For sure the book of Adithya mukherjee is available in the leading bookstores and libraries in kerala Google Books too can be accessed for the E-version

Hi, my score is just 55. I was wondering whether I should carry on the preparations for the mains...Can someone guide me on this, plz?
ReplyDeleteIt is better you keep your books under your pillow and sleep over it .Then it will be easy for things ot go directly to your head so that you can avoid reading or studiying. My dear dud please understand stuidying about a new topic wont be a waste at any time.go and study#@#$
ReplyDeletehow the PSC handle cancelled questions? whether PSC give marks for the same or simply put zero for them??????????????????
ReplyDeleteFinal Answer Key Published. Hope to see the result soon
ReplyDeleteThird world countries are developing countries right? They answer key says "none of these".
ReplyDeletePrecisely speaking third world countries include under developed countries also. After the collapse of the soviet union, the idea of Second world became obsolete.Hence PSC opted for that answer.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, i submitted three objections to the provisional key, and all the three objections were accepted by the PSC,as proven by the release of the final key.A brief version of my objections were published in the previous postings. You can scroll up and see.Indeed, i feel heavy respect for the democratic sensibilities of Kerala PSC.
Vinod Chandrakumar
That is not right Mr Vinod. Please see wikipedia. Third world countries are developing countries. Looks like Kerala PSC is changing some answers to favour a candidate.
ReplyDeleteYou might be correct.Indeed my brother appeared for the exam.hence i am looking 4 the key.He also missed that qstn.He opted 4 devloping countries.I too feel it as correct. What i stated was an attempt to rationalise the final key.By the way what would be the possible cut-off? I mean the post final answer key scenario?
ReplyDeletethe above-mentioned statement is mine.
ReplyDeleteVinod Chandrakumar
No idea on the cutoff Vinod. All they need to do now is to scan the omr sheets and rank them. Normal evaluation of Eng/Med takes 6-8 weeks but then there are more candidates and that times 3 (subjects). So I am guessing the results will be out in 2 weeks.
ReplyDeletelets make it simple....all those who have applied are directly selected as deputy collectors....
ReplyDeleteDeshabimani news paper dated 7/6/2011 makes it clear that the initial list of 3000 candidates is prepared by PSC and the result will be out in one week.the cut of fixed by Psc is 70 marks
ReplyDeleteResults are out. 62 is the cut off.
