ReplyDeleteonly on 18th, psc published provisional answer key. it will take nearly 1 month or more to get the final answer key. OMR valuation will take place only after that. That means a minimum of 40 days is required for PSC to publish the preliminary marks.
ReplyDeletethere a few wrong anwers in the answer key provide by PSC 2in GS in English and 1 in Menatal ability.I think cut off will be either 57or 58 or 59 eventhough scoring above 60 is not difficult

ReplyDeletecut off will be most likey 55-58....PSC wants to have 3000-5000 candidates to appear for main exam...deputy collector is not for selecting 90 out of 100 objective questions...he/she is for making decisions in real time..
yaa i do partially a agree with you...the number of candidates qualified for mains depends on the vacancy also.(not the present vacancy but the vacancy anticipated within the period of the list).around 10-15 vacancies are expected hence number of candidates going to be qualified will be around 1500 to 2000.

ReplyDeleteOnly one more month is ahead of mains.its is rediculous to PSc for not publishing the result for which they have published the final key on 28h of last month.Even the medical and engineering authorities wont take this much of time with more than three times the number of candidates.I doubt how many are there who actually know there is a main exam for which candidatres has to prepare and the exam is on 16th.Other wise there may be a cladestine move to enable certain gruop who have score more than 70 whom we belive have got a fair chance of finding place in the list

ReplyDeleteTe manorama news paper of 19/6/2011 has come out with an intersting news.the tabulatioon work is over and Psc has decided to include around 3500 candidates for te prelims and they are on the broad frame work preparation of fixing separate cut off for the less previlaged section by taking all conected faCTORS INTO CONSIDERATION.BUT THE VERY NEXT DAY 'TOZHIL VEEDHI' OF THE SAME NEWS PAPER GROUP has come with a shocking news that the Psc has come to the concluson of taking only 1000 candidates and there are more than 1700 candidates with more tam 60 marks and the cut off range can go upto 65 marks.Dear friends what is actually going on?Is result is a piece meal wich is available to only these previlaged groups? Where is the much acclaimed secrecy and neutrality of PSC?Or Is these news paper peoples are encashing the enthusiasm and expectation of the public? A person if he really talented, then how can he be behind in a particulair exam and excel in another pattern.Even in IAS selection, excusion of candidates based on performance in prelims is there. Ratio is around 1:6. Did it mean that IAS persons are idiot. PRELIMINARY may be easy or bad. In all cases, there is a chance for excel for bright students. more over, if one is not included in 1000 selected means his calibre in quick analysis and answering is weak.that is all.

ReplyDeleteyes..about the thozhil veethi news it is correct..they have given that PSC intilally decided to include 10,000 people in the short list but later they cancelled that and decided to include only 1000 and the cut off will be b/w 58-65. it also says that for the reservation category it the cut off will be still loweres and 1700 people has got above 60 marks.

ReplyDeletei am really unhappy with the psc decision to include only 1000 people and i am from genral caregory and why should the psc lower the cut off mark only for reservation people ..let the reservation people get the post whichever reserved for them ..but why they set the cot off mark which is lower than for the other category ? we will be loosing our possibility.. to get into the list..
also anybody knows what will happen if they go for court ? whether the court will put a stay?

ReplyDeletedear friend reservation cut off will always be lower....only then they will be able to select required reserved candidates for the post.in civil servce exam also upsc follow the same pattern.even for mains they fix a lower cut off for reservd category...so this claim wont stand in the court.

ReplyDeletei think it is better to make a single list. If a particular community is not adequately represented in the main list, then that many number of candidates may also be included . (may be 4 times the number of vacancies to that community. Example - Ezhava 12% reservation. total vacancies expected - 24 maximum. So 12% = 3 .Its 10 times = 30 So if only 20 Ezhava cands are included in main, then take 10 from a lower mark. Like this a sinle list is enough.
ReplyDeleteIn the case of BDO and Secretariat assistant lists,there was unified lists after the preliminary.Only after the main exam the list was prepared as main list and supplementary lists(ie...before interview).
ReplyDeleteif the above system is followed, maximum 200 candidates will be selected from below the cut off mark for the reservation group. This is enough, if only 1000 cands are included in main lisr , because general 1:30ratio. reservation also 1:30 . 30 x 12 = 360. (12 is half of 24, the expected vacancy) 160 may come in main list. so balance 200 has to be taken from lower mark)
ReplyDeleteIn the above case, if the final list is of 1000, then 150-200 may be from lower than cut off group. Means 850 only will be selected on cut off basis. Then cut off 68 -70 range. If 3500 in main, 3000 will be above cut off. cut off - 54 - 58 range
ReplyDeleteOnly unified list will be there.So if 1700 candidates got marks above 60 (dont know this is true or not),then ideally cut off for general candidate will be lower to 60,considering the fact that PSC will reserve approx 30% seats for reservation category.Approx 600 candidates will be there in reserved category.

ReplyDeleteDear friends we are hearing a lot of news about the cut off mark and number of candidates included in the list.every news paper has got some news about it ,either complete or partial and they are coming with diffrent news items about it.It is also confirmed that the psc is noy going to change the date of the main exam date .In that case if they are unable to publish the list they can atleast air the cut off mark for the mainlist and supplimentry list.This will help to remove the clouds surrounding the cut off marks and will help many candidates in their preparation for the mains rather than leaking news to these media people and giving confusion to the candidates.When they are going to publish it?just one week ahead of the mains?

ReplyDeleteBest wishes. For every one's information - 64 is cut off. 1000 are included . No supplimentary list. reservation group (ST) upto 3500 th position is also included in the above listed 1000. This was misinterpretred as 3500 by media. Result will be on 27 - 06 -2011. Down load from site from 01-07-2011 onwards

ReplyDeleteOne more day have passed leaving uncertaininty to the candidates and the approach towards main has reduced by one more day.Its almost sure a good number si going to loose the exam becuse of the insufficient preparation due to the delayed reults.whom to be blamed for this?Where is the delay and why is it happening?Yes it will only go like this and this is evident in all our development projects.And because of this we are lacking behind others ,be the developed in the west or our counter parts in the north in our own country .They must have an idea about the numbers be in the main or supplimentary well advance and should proceed accordingly.Even in the issue aboout the inclusion of diffrent unprevilaged groups ,it wont take much time as it all happens in the click of a button in the computorised system.As i have commented earlier for people there in Psc ,how many actually knows there is a main exam for which candidates have to prepare? they are just thinking it as another usual exam for which they can have the same luke warm attitude.

ReplyDeletePSC attitude is very dissappointing .They made the short list with a false key.Four Right answers were given as wrong ..eventually people who dont have reservation and having higher cut off lost out in the race.Just imagine the change that if the marks were given to the right answers.The real merit students will be in the list.Not only that people with high and low cut off marks who were able to secure their rank in the present list based on the false key is facing the next levels of the exam and may lead our state and nation in the coming years when the real merit students were out of the race.This is indeeed disheartening,dissapointing and disgusting
